Metware's Targeted metabolomics uses LC-MS with chemical standards to obtain absolute quantification of a set compounds in the sample. Each standard is prepared using a series of dilutions to generate a standard curve. The quantity of the compound in each sample is calculated from the standard curve. Targeted metabolomics analysis is often used when only a specific set of metabolites need to be detected and accurately quantified. It is also the gold standard to validate metabolite quantification from global metabolome profiling data.
